History of Cape May County

Historic Sites:

Historic Trail: Let's travel the route the Lenni-Lenape Indians of the great Algonquin Nation used in their journey from Canada. Crossing the Great Egg Harbor River (named for its abundance of Sea Gull Eggs), they came down the coast along the meadows until they reached Cape May Point, where they were stopped by "a river too great to cross."
