Records Management

Overview


Records management is an essential part of governmental record keeping. Records Manager Melissa Mistic works with the County's Management Information Systems (MIS) Department to assist departments County-wide to to protect, control, and manage the county's electronic and paper-based information assets in an efficient, cost effective manner and in compliance with state regulations and laws.

In 2007, Records Management staff conducted a county-wide inventory to determine the amount of physical records held by each department. Since the inception of the program, we have assisted departments with destruction of 150 plus tons of eligible records, thereby reducing storage and management costs, as well as potential liability.
